Lovely hotel, small pool, near beach but 15 min by metro from city centre.Breakfast in hotel was amazing!!

We (Couple) used this hotel for as a combined location for some summer sun and a city break. We stayed 6 nights and it was ideal. Close location to the beach for summer sun (5-10 min walk). It is ideal for quick access to the city with tram outside the door and metro (20 mins to centre of city) a short two minute walk away. This hotle allowed us to both catch some sun and visit the city sights and resturants each day.

Million Dollar city views. Very clean and quiet. High Tech. Easy access to all modes of transportation. Tourist Bus picks up right in front. Train station across street. As well as Bus stops and Taxi stalls. Large shopping mall across street. I didn't care for open bathroom set up. No door and no privacy if coming out of the shower and someone comes in.

We were a young Irish couple on our 1st trip to Barca,the hotel is further away from city centre then we expected but on the plus side its a safer part of the city and quiter at nite. The metro is just across the road and you should use it,its very cheap and easy to get around. Although,we flew to Girona and found it a little bit confusing at 1st to get to the hotel from the bus station in Barca,so we would of preferred somewhere closer to city centre. You can look up your route on the metro online!!very handy.. The hotel itself was clean and comfy,we got the sea view room which was nice enough but not spectacular,you will spend most of your time in the city theres so much to do,so book somewhere cheaper than here cause' theres plenty of great free views(Montjuic) round the city. Its worth staying here,but the food was'nt great in the area,even with a shopping centre beside hotel,in fact you will have to look hard and wide before you get a decent meal,we missed been able to cook for ourselves. Its a very expensive city unless your self-catering cause' supermarkets are cheap,so my advice is,book cheaper but not too close to La Ramblas(main street) its a tourist trap!!! You will get used to transport and directions in no time dont panic,would go to Barca again but would definately do it differently!! Watch out for pickpockets(La Ramblas,Catalunya Sq.),and girls mind your drinks,this is a major city like anywhere and you will see it happen,so keep your wits about ya!! Enjoy :)

we stayed in two other hotels in Barcelona and this was by far the best. We were on the 20th floor, which gave us a great view of the city. The location is good: metro stop and bus stop and light rail stop within 75 yards. There's a mall next door for convenient shopping. One of those Bus Tours (which we did and recommend it) stops across the street. The beach is nearby but a little bit of a walk to get to. There were two free internet stations at the hotel. It had two pools, one on the top floor (very cool) and one near the bottom floor. We'd stay there again.

We walked in the room and were so happy! The king size bed was amazing, we would have liked a bath rather than just a shower, but other than that the room was brillaint. Cleaned daily- at any time it appeared, with everything replaced. We didn't really interact with many of the staff so couldn't report back on that, but the reception staff were very helpful. The swimming pools were quite small, but you are so near the beach, (which is lovely and not too busy) that it didn't matter at all.

We had booked a junior suite on a great promotional rate and we were thrilled when we saw the room. It was exceptionally large with a separate sitting area and a large terrace overlooking the sea. Breakfast was included, and we were again thrilled. It was hot, fresh, and of a very high quality. This hotel is really a great value for the money. Be aware that the location is not in the city center, it is in the Forum area which does not have much to offer to tourists. However, the metro is only one block from the hotel, and the sites only a short trip away. The only issue we experienced involved the air conditioning in the room. It stopped working one evening and we were told someone would repair within the hour, but no one ever came. The next morning we again alerted the front desk and the problem was fixed quickly.

The hotel is in a great location with transport close by to travel around at reasonable costs We had a suite with views overlooking the Med, sure was worth the money. The hotel staff are very helpful. The only thing was the breakfast was advertised as "American" it is not, however was still very nice.

- If you do not mind the ride to the city center, the hotel is good for the rate. - Staff is all spoken English and they were very courteous. - View from the room is great and public transportation is right at the door. - Unfortunately 3 out of the 6 nights stay, there was a big rock'n'roll concert in the back yard of the hotel. Music was extremely loud and the crowd was very annoying. I did not enjoy my last three days of staying at all. - Hotel is remote and you may get more central place for the same rate.

The hotel is ideally located if you want to shop or take a walk on the beach. The 'hop on hop off' tour bus stops right outside the Princess, so it's also an ideal location for sightseeing. The shopping mall next door was fantastic and shops could compete with those in the city which was only a short taxi or subway ride away. When using taxi's be sure you know the address of the hotel as there is another Princess hotel in Barcelona which seemed to confuse taxi drivers. There's a Subway station only a three minute walk from hotel. Taxi ride was approx €15 into the city centre and the subway ride was €1.79! The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel bar was relaxed as we had a midweek break, it 'livened up' towards end of the week. We would definitely go back to the Barcelona Princess.

Our stay was very pleasant. We stayed in the junior suite and the room had a separate but small sitting room. Breakfast wqs included in the price and it was excellent. Everyone was very helpful and eventhough the hotel was a little way out transportation was right infront. There was a mall right next door with plenty of places to grab a bite or do a little shopping. We really enjoyed ou stay and recommend it. G.R.

Hotel was lovely but there was a horrible sewerage smell just outside the main entrance to hotel and a smell in the bedroom when you first opened door. But the bedroom was fab!! Pure luxury with a shower that you could stay in all day!!! Hotel reception staff very friendly but not great with information on the area. Do your homework before you come out here. Bar a bit pricey!!

The Barcelona Princess was an all-around fantastic hotel. Great view of the sea, very clean, and very close to all forms of public transportation. The tourist bus stops outside the front door every 15 minutes, and is not just a great way to see/learn about the city, but also a cheap form of transportation everywhere. The shopping mall is also located right next door! I would definitely go back to The Princess the next time I visit Barcelona.

we stayed in the princess hotel for three nights and could not fault it on any level. We arrived at 11am and although check-in is at 3pm because they had rooms available they allowed us to check in immediately. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. The room whilst not huge was spotless. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Bathrobes and slippers are provided and the mini-bar is free. We did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment on that. The Princess is not very central but has a metro station across the road, the number 7 bus stops outside and the green line tour bus stops outside the door. We had no problem getting around. I would highly recommend a stay in what is very much a boutique style hotel.

Me and my fiance stayed here for a couple nights and found this hotel great. They actually had hotel security standing the whole time at the front door. The staff was really nice and helpful when I asked questions. They even opened a bottle of wine for me that I bought outside the hotel. There is two complaints I have though. One is the double bed is two beds pushed together and they kept moving away from each other which made a small gap in the center. The other was the shower had this half door thing which was really different and it seemed inevitable to make a mess in the bathroom. Breakfast was awesome by the way. And the metro is not far from the hotel. About 5 minutes.

The hotel was located one block from a metro stop ( el marisme forum) which took about 20 minutes to get into the ramblas. The room was fitted to a very high standard included free mini bar which was a nice touch , had a great shower comfortable bed. There was also a pool on the 23rd floor which was small but great to go first thing in the morning. A jacuzzi sauna and a second pool was located on the 3rd floor. The lift was made from glass and the views from it were great. There is also a shopping center ( diagonal mar) right longside the hotel. On the yellow la pau metro line it had stops for the olympic village/zoo bar gothic pisag de gracia.

The hotel would be great in the summer if you are looking for a place by the beach. However, if you want more of the center city night life, you might want to pick something a little closer. Overall the rooms and facilities were GREAT! We did have problems with the heat control. At times it got incredibly warm in the rooms.

The hotel is beautiful, however, the wind is very strong and makes too much noise at night. The breakfast is not free only if you were paying for a higher price, but the difference in the price is better than having the buffet. It is in a very nice and clean neighborhood. The room itself is very clean and comfortable. It was a great hotel for the price.

The hotel was a bit off the beaten path and did require many taxis to and from various tourist locations. Also in the first room that we had there was a terrible odor of sewer that the staff noted when bringing in our luggage and sent a cleaning woman to spray. It truly was just masking the odor that was on the 23rd floor on the port side. The second room that we had was on the 16th floor on the city side and had no unpleasant odor. The hotel was quite nice and the staff was wonderfully accomodating and pleasant. It would have been nice to have been offered a breakfast inclusion as it seemed that we were the only hotel patrons paying for our breakfast which was a bit steep. It was a buffet breakfast which was quite sumptuous but there was no offer of simply coffee and pastry which meant that we spent 45 Euros per day on breakfast. In all I would recommend the hotel but with the caveat that it is far from all activities.

My Girlfriend and I were on a weekend break and thought that this hotel was generally excellent. The room is very modern with minimalist styling and an excellent shower. The restaurant was average and the people on reception were extremely helpful and friendly. There was a tube stop 2 minutes walk away and a taxi rank next to the hotel which was handy. You could get to all the main barcelona sites easily on the tube. There was a slight smell in the bathroom but we were told that this was normal for the area and there was nothing to be done about it. Other than that we were very pleased with our stay

Although this hotel is a little out of the centre of Barcelona it is still worth staying there. There is a metro station across the road, the beach is a 20 minute walk away and there is a big shopping precinct as well as cosy little cafes nearby. The hotel itself was immaculate with stunning views from the glass elevator. There are two swimming pools as well as a jacuzzi, sauna and gym which are all part of the hotel package. The room was great with a king size bed and although there was no bath, the shower more than made up for this. The mini fridge was stocked with free beer and soft drinks upon our arrival. Room service was delicious, prepared by the chef, and offered a wider selection and better value for money than the hotel restaurant.

The staff was warm and accomodating. I have nothing but good things to say about The Bacellona Princess. Perhaps the location at the end of Aven Diagonal is a bit away from Las Ramblas etc. but it was lovely. Both checkins were early due to my connections. The second one was at 9 am. There was no problem checking in at that time.

Great hotel, good service, modern and clean. The location is off the beaten path in a quiet area, but it is right next to a Metro station and the Tram. The pooltop roof is very nice with excellent views of the city.

the hotel was beautiful and a steal for the price we paid the staff was wonderful and the hotel was not to far from the city center it was a inexpensive cab ride away from the city center and great restaurants. the views from the hotel are great and i really enjoyed staying here i would definitel stay again when in barcelona.

We stayed here for 3 nights in Sept 08. As others have said, the city and sea views are fantastic. Hotel staff members were helpful and polite. We enjoyed the daily beverages in the complimentary minibar, and also the nice bathroom shower and the blackout shade on the window. As others have also mentioned, the hotel is not right in the city center, but we had no trouble using the subway and tram to get around (the longest wait we had for a subway train was about 3 minutes.) There are a lot of stairs involved in getting to the various subway stations, so that might not be the best option for someone with mobility issues. It was nice to experience a neighborhood that is not right in the middle of the typical tourist areas. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel, and it was helpful to know ahead of time that there would be a 3-Euro surcharge for being picked up at the airport, plus a 1 Euro charge for each bag, plus the regular fare (around 25 Euros). Our driver did not speak much English but we showed him the hotel address and directions in Spanish, so he had no trouble taking us right to the hotel. We also took a taxi to the cruise terminal at the Port, which has a 2-Euro surcharge plus the bag surcharges and regular fare.

Excellent hotel, staff, facilities, position, rooms in fact everything excellent.....BUT........ big let down that they wont let you take towels to the beach, wont let you hire a towel or buy a towel - you will be treated like a criminal if a towel makes it anywhere near reception !!!

We liked the Hotel Princess because it was not in the center of the action in Barcelona. It was a ten minute tube ride away from the downtown area and the station was a short block from the hotel. The hotel staff was outstanding. A problem with a window that allowed in sounds from the outside was corrected when we told the desk clerk. The location next to a mall with a major food store allowed us to reduce some food costs.

Amazing hotel, great value for money, powerful shower in room, free mini bar, comfy beds and amazing black out blind on the window, HEAVEN!! Fantastic holiday, tour guide bus stops right outside the back of the hotel, very handy. Shopping centre with lots of shops and resturants right next door and open till late. Lots to do. Would definatly go back!! Dislikes: No balcony and not able to open windows due to security reasons and also on the Friday night there was a concert in the building oppasite which went on till the early hours.

Just come back from a 4 night trip to Barcalona and loved this hotel. It is very comfortable. the free mini bar is great. hotel staff were nice and the transport links were excellent. i had read reviews that said that this hotel was too far out of the centre, i didn't think so. not for those with vertigo, but we thought the view from our room on the 19th floor, the view from the pool and the view from the lift were fabulous

We had one of the sea view rooms to the back of the Hotel- Well worth the extra price. The hotel was in a perfect location for both the beach and metro station. Very modern and clean. Staff are very helpful.

Excellent location, right next to a metro station. The room was beautiful, very modern and clean. The breakfast is a little pricy, but worth every penny.

Beautiful, clean, modern hotel with every luxury and ammenity desired. Great food, great room. We will definitely stay there again if and when we travel to Barcelona again!

Wonderful hotel and staff!! Just make sure you have breakfast included, cost around $50.00 us dollars for two.

Good hotel, with a great view, English speaking staff, great service. Complimentery drinks in mini bar nice touch. Two small but good pools, sauna and jacquzzi. Very close to a metro station which was handy for beaches as there is no "beach" within walking distance, although you can swim in the sea there is no sand, so that isn't a beach in my book. Only eating places nearby were in mall next door, although it is open from 10am until 11pm so wasn't too bad. To get into the city you need to change metro trains, takes about 20 minutes as trains as very frequent. Overall very nice hotel for price we paid and decent location.

Free internet in rooms, free mini-bar (1 coke, 1 beer, 1 lemon drink, 2 water bottles) restocked each day of stay. Comfortable beds. Breakfast is expensive (if not included in stay) - I heard the buffet is good, but I didn't try it. Great city and Mediterranean views from most rooms. Full modern shopping-mall next door with a number of full-service restaurants. Tourist bus stops just outside hotel. Metro stop one short block away. Very convenient, very comfortable. Both pools are nice, but lack sunlight in the evening. 10-20 minute metro ride to downtown depending on where you go. Very few criticisms.

The Barcelona Princess was a nice hotel. We stayed there for the last 4 days of our 10 day honeymoon. The rooms are a little cozy but not bad considering we had a king size bed and great view of the Mediterranean. The bathroom was nice but the toilet room was real tight. The shower was awesome, especially after a long day on the beach. The blackout shades made it night time any time of the day and were great for afternoon siestas. There were only a few things that bothered us. First thing was that on two occasions our key did not work so we had to go back down to the desk to get it fixed. This would not have been so bad if the elevators did not take so long. Another issue was that the electrical outlet was not working and we called the front desk to get someone to fix it they stated that someone would be there in 10-15 minutes. By the time we left for dinner an hour later no one had still shown up and it was never fixed. The last issue we had was that on one of our last days of our honeymoon we decided to stay in and relax and housekeeping kept on bothering us to clean the room and then did not refill our mini-fridge and had to come back later that night and fill it much to their displeasure. Overall this was a nice hotel with a very small pool. Nice place for a couple of days but not a long trip.

It is perfect! Located next to the beach; with the subway station, trolley stop and tourist hop-on-hop-off bus stop right next to the hotel. For those who like a taxi, it is a 10 euro 15 minutes ride to the Ramblas. The biggest mall in Barcelona (for locals not tourists) is literally 10 steps from the hotel's front door. The Mall Diagonal Mar in addition to bowling alley, indoors food court and movie theaters has a terrific outdoor terrace with a little plaza that has several great restaurants and tapas bars. We loved Cañas y Tapas and Moncho's. Enjoy!

What a hotel... Booked this as a bit of a gamble last minute but the gamble certainly paid off. Having stayed in a few 5 Star hotels in the UK this one certainly met the standard even though it was officially a 4 Star. Unfortunately we seemed to bring the british weather (terrenchal rain) with us so for 3 out of 4 days it rained however I am rating the hotel not the weather. The room was just as pictured. Really impressive. The black out blinds were amazing and guarantee a good nights sleep. Shower was powerful. The whole hotel was modern and tidy. Free mini bar was a bonus too. As the weather was bad both pools were closed due to wind and rain however on the sunny day I briefly got to check out the 23rd floor pool which was really impressive including full view of the sea. Breakfast was good, but not good for british fry up lovers. There is a suprisingly large shopping mall situated literally outside the hotel which was ideal for buying umbrellas should the weather be as bad as when we went. And is more than good for your average food/clothes shopping, should you need it. There is also a metro station a few hundred metres away giving access to the whole of Barcelona. (The Nou Camp in our instance.) We are definetly planning to go back soon, once we can guarantee some better weather....

The hotel was very comfortable for a reasonable price. We were very pleased with its location as it is about 1 block away from a Metro station and the Barcelona tourist bus has a stop right outside the hotel. This made it extremely easy for us to see all the sights in Barcelona. They were in the process of repairing the doors to our shower and closet and so there was tape over the handles, but other than this very minor issue the hotel was quite comfortable. It also offered free internet access which made it easy to keep in touch with family back in the US.

The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. They attended to my needs promptly. The room was very clean. I will recommend the hotel to anyone who visits the Barcelona area.

The Barcelona Princess offers a great stay and one of the best breakfast buffets we've ever had at a European hotel. The room was comfortable and quiet and came complete with a refrigerator with one set of complimentary soda and water. The hotel is located next to a three story shopping mall complete with a grocery store and is one block from a metro stop. The Diagonal Tram stops right in front of the hotel and the Barcelona Tourist hop-on/hop-off bus stops on the other side of the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful and the free internet access was just icing on the cake. All in all, the hotel was wonderful and I highly recommend it.

Got this hotel at a discounted rate as it was quite expensive for my budget. Boutique style hotel, lovely room with view over all the rooftops of Barcelona. There was a private beach directly accross the road from the hotel entrance which we didnt find until the last day. Would definitely stay here again but a bit far out from the actual centre, but plenty of trams and buses to catch.
